Hapé (Rapé)

Hapé (pronounced hah-PAY or rah-PAY) is a sacred Amazonian snuff, made by finely grinding a blend of powdered medicinal plants and mapacho (jungle tobacco). It is blown into each nostril through a pipe (called a tepi when served by another, or kuripe when self-administered), entering through the nasal passages to clear physical, emotional, and energetic blockages.

Traditionally used by Indigenous tribes such as the Yawanawá, Huni Kuin (Kaxinawá), and Katukina, Hapé is a grounding, cleansing, and deeply spiritual medicine. It is often used to center the mind, open prayer space, clear energy, and deepen connection to Spirit or intention.

Hapé is fast-acting and the experience typically lasts 10–30 minutes. Participants may experience:

• Sudden clearing of the mind and inner stillness
• Intense physical grounding into the body
• Emotional release through tears, yawning, or shaking
• Deepened connection to breath and presence
• Mild purging (vomiting, spitting, tears, bowel release)
• A sense of spiritual clarity and realignment
   

When served with skill and intention, Hapé may support:

• Energetic cleansing of heavy or stagnant emotions
• Nervous system regulation and focus
• Prayerful connection to Earth, breath, and Spirit
• Clearing mental fog, anxiety, or energetic residue
• Enhancing presence before or after other medicines
• Strengthening personal boundaries and inner alignment
   

Hapé is generally safe when served properly but is not recommended for those who:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have uncontrolled high blood pressure
• Have undergone recent nasal surgery or trauma
• Are extremely sensitive to tobacco or nicotine
• Are in a dysregulated or dissociative state without support
  

All participants are screened beforehand, and the medicine is offered in small doses appropriate for the individual's body, sensitivity, and needs.
 

We offer Hapé as a sacred spiritual medicine to clear the mind, ground the body, and open the heart. It is never used casually or recreationally. All our blends are ethically sourced, and prayerfully prepared in alignment with Indigenous tradition.

Hapé is served in silence. We ask participants to remain quiet, focused, and respectful of the sacredness of the moment. This silence creates a powerful field for personal prayer, intention, and energetic realignment.

All sacramental practices are offered as part of sincere religious and spiritual ceremony. We do not sell or distribute any controlled substances.
